With ever-increasing volumes of sequencing data for biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs), computational methods to accurately predict which secondary metabolites result from these are critically lacking. Here, we present CHAMOIS, a machine learning-based tool for predicting chemical properties of secondary metabolites from protein domains annotated in the input BGCs. CHAMOIS infers 485 chemical properties from the ChemOnt ontology using logistic regression. It accurately predicts 111 such properties (AUPRC > 0.5) in cross-validation against known instances. Although CHAMOIS is not explicitly trained on biosynthetic knowledge, many of the inferred links between protein domains and metabolite properties are consistent with scientific literature, others suggest new biochemical functions of uncharacterized biosynthetic domains. Finally, CHAMOIS can pinpoint which BGC within a given genome produces a pre-specified metabolite (correct BGC in 69% of cases ranked among the top 5), which holds great potential for prioritising experimental BGC characterisation and discovery of novel biosynthetic enzymes.

This study examines the contribution of civil society to the quality of democracy in Nigeria's Fourth Republic through a comparative analysis of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) administration (2005–2015) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration (2015–2025). Specifically, it assesses the extent to which civil society organisations have promoted accountability, electoral integrity, political participation, government responsiveness and civil liberties under both administrations. The study is anchored on Antonio Gramsci's Theory of Hegemony. A qualitative comparative case study design was adopted, using key informant interviews with leading civil society organisations and documentary evidence from governance reports, election observation missions and scholarly literature. Data were analysed through thematic content analysis and triangulation. The findings reveal that civil society has remained central to democratic governance by advancing election observation, legislative oversight, policy advocacy, anti-corruption initiatives and civic education. However, despite becoming more organised and influential, its impact has been constrained by declining institutional responsiveness, shrinking civic space and weakening democratic institutions, particularly during the APC administration. Respondents generally perceived the PDP era as providing relatively greater opportunities for civic engagement, although both administrations exhibited significant democratic shortcomings. The study concludes that the quality of democracy depends not only on the strength of civil society but also on the willingness of political institutions to uphold accountability, protect civic freedoms and respond to citizens' demands. It recommends strengthening the independence of democratic institutions, safeguarding civic space, implementing electoral reforms consistently and promoting sustained collaboration between government and civil society to enhance democratic governance in Nigeria.

Publishing traffic data from road-network sensors must protect predictable, everyday movement patterns, but differentially private noise that is spread uniformly risks masking the rare signals, such as accidents, that the data is meant to help detect. Prior differentially private graph-signal mechanisms either protect the underlying network structure or apply denoising after privatization; we instead derive an a priori, closed-form noise allocation directly from a graph's spectral structure. The mechanism combines a graph Fourier transform, an independently-calibrated spectral basis, and a Lagrangian-derived allocation law using a tight, component-specific sensitivity bound. Using Rényi differential privacy composition instead of standard composition reduces required noise by 80% and improves reconstruction error by 96.9–97.4% at matched privacy guarantees, while yielding a statistically significant improvement in anomaly detectability over uniform allocation (paired test, p < 0.0001 and p = 0.023 across two budgets).

Conflict is an enduring feature of organizational life because individuals and groups differ in interest, goals, values, perceptions, responsibilities, and access to resources. The central managerial challenge is therefore not the elimination of conflict but the development of conditions under which conflict can be diagnosed and managed without unnecessarily damaging relationships or organizational performance. This conceptual article synthesizes established research on organizational conflict, conflict-management styles, alternative dispute resolution, psychological safety, and organizational systems. It distinguishes among relationship, task, and structural dimensions of conflict and examines the five conflict-management modes associated with the Thomas-Kilmann framework: competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding, and accommodating. The article argues that the usefulness of any mode is contingent on the conflict’s causes, urgency, power relations, interdependence, and desired outcomes. It further develops a three-level framework linking interpersonal competence, procedural mechanisms, and organizational systems. The framework emphasizes early diagnosis, role clarity, constructive communication, psychological safety, negotiation and mediation, leadership capability, and organizational learning. The review also highlights evidence that relationship conflict is consistently associated with poorer team outcomes and that psychological safety can support learning behavior. The article concludes that effective conflict management should be institutionalized as a strategic organizational capability rather than treated solely as a reactive human-resources procedure.  Keywords: Organizational Conflict; Conflict Management; Thomas-Kilmann Model; Leadership; Organizational Culture

This document presents the case for investing in business-to-business matchmaking events in the Dominican Republic, supported by the FISH4ACP programme, to connect mahi-mahi fishers and processors with buyers. Despite strong local demand for mahi-mahi (Coryphaena hippurus), also known as dolphinfish or dorado, fishers and processors struggle to access higher-value domestic markets due to poor cold chain infrastructure and weak relationships with buyers. To address these challenges, a national marketing channel called La Ruta del Dorado was created to connect fishers with high-value buyers, including processing companies, supermarkets, catering businesses, hotels and restaurants. Following the matchmaking events, end-market buyers made purchase commitments benefiting 60 fishers for a total of 105 tonnes of mahi-mahi and other species at prices averaging 5 percent higher than those available through lower-value domestic market channels. These results demonstrate that business-to-business matchmaking events, when carefully planned and supported with follow-up assistance, can effectively open new market channels for small-scale fishers.

Each ZIP contains static RDF data (static.nt), ordered stream events (stream-events.jsonl), generated SELECT queries (queries.sparql), generator settings and provenance (metadata.json), a README with instructions, and a prefix-versus-full recomputation check (recomputation-results.tsv).The quick workload uses static scale 1, stream scale 1, seed 42, 10 queries, generator maximum-query-size parameter 6, and one constant per query. It contains 56,915 static triples and 58,555 stream triples in 39,069 events. The larger workload uses static scale 10, stream scale 10, the same seed and query settings, and 50 queries. It contains 551,058 static triples and 4,849,758 stream triples in 3,708,693 events.
