This deliverable documents the EMC2 project’s public dissemination event in Austria, a two-day symposium hosted by the Urban Design Research Group at TU Wien (TUW-UD) on 20–21 February 2025.
Delegates from all partner institutions—ESPACE (France), SMoG (Sweden), DESTEC (Italy)—joined TUW-UD in Vienna. The internal programme coordinated work in WP2 and WP3 and set the consortium’s 2025 dissemination plan. The public session (20 February) featured a welcome by Angelika Psenner, a project introduction by Giovanni Fusco, an overview of the DUT Partnership by Maximilian Jäger, and a keynote by Kurt Hofstetter (MA 50) on the “Potential for the 15-minute city in peripheral urban areas.” Project contributions included: TUW-UD on the catalogue of linear settlements and morphogenetic diagrams; SMoG on diachronic road network analysis; and ESPACE on a catalogue of settlement structures on the French Riviera.
The document contains a report, timetable, photo documentation and announcement poster of the event, as well as the posters from the WP3 exhibition and research-led teaching.
This resource was produced within the emc2 project, which is funded by ANR (France, grant ANR-23-DUTP-0003), FFG (Austria, grant FO999905461), MUR (Italy, grant 2024/0017648) and Vinnova (Sweden, grant 2023-02581) under the Driving Urban Transition Partnership, which has been co-funded by the European Commission.

This study explored the difficulties and the ways the teacher education students manage lesson plan writing at Christ the King College de Maranding. A qualitative case design was utilized; fifteen students from Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in English, provided information through a validated guide questionnaire. The Merriam & Tisdell served as the method for data examination, which helped the researchers identify recurring themes. Research findings showed that students faced difficulties in lesson plan writing because their understanding of the process is limited. It has been observed that these individuals struggled to create SMART objectives, while the use of different teaching methods, adding modern tools, and meeting the needs of every student led to many problems during lesson plan writing. Although these problems existed, the individuals used different methods to survive, which included working with friends, asking their teachers for help, and using internet tools. The information gathered helps to make classroom preparation stronger, while the information makes sure that the individuals are ready for the working position in the educational environment. These insights contribute to strengthening instructional preparation, ensuring student-teachers’ readiness for classroom practice, and guiding future research on lesson planning in the context of evolving educational demands.

Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic forced educational institutions to shift abruptly from classroom learning to online platforms. Nursing students experienced academic disruption, limited clinical exposure, technological barriers, and social isolation, all of which contributed to heightened stress levels. Managing stress through simple coping strategies is essential to protect students’ mental wellbeing and academic performance. Deep-breathing exercises are known to stimulate relaxation and reduce physiological stress responses. Aim To assess stress levels before and after online deep-breathing guidance among BSc Nursing students during online learning, and to determine whether the intervention effectively reduces stress. Methods and Tools A quasi-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design was adopted among 60 purposively selected first- and second-year BSc Nursing students from a selected nursing college in Coimbatore. Data were collected using a self-structured questionnaire that included demographic details, online-learning-related variables, and a 20-item Likert-scale stress assessment tool. Participants received online guidance and daily demonstrations of deepbreathing exercises for five consecutive days, after which the same stress tool was administered again. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics to determine the effectiveness of the intervention. Results The mean pre-test stress score was 46.62, indicating a moderate stress level. After the intervention, the mean post-test score decreased to 37.45, producing a mean difference of 9.17, demonstrating a significant reduction in stress. Findings confirmed that guided deep-breathing exercises were effective in reducing stress among nursing students during online learning. Discussion The study demonstrated that nursing students were psychologically impacted by online learning during the pandemic, echoing global findings that uncertainty, workload, network issues, lack of clinical exposure, and pandemic fear elevate stress. Deep-breathing exercises served as an accessible, low-cost coping strategy that could be practiced without equipment and produced immediate physiological relaxation. Therefore, integrating structured stress-management interventions—such as breathing practices—into nursing education may support students’ mental wellbeing, academic performance, and resilience during crisis-driven shifts to remote learning

Abstract: The media has been credited with playing a role in the construction of public meanings for politically contentious economic policies. The 2023 Finance Bill in Kenya, in view of the politicization and public reactions it sparked across Kenya, proved to be a good case for exploring the nexus between language, ideology and the public sphere. This study examines the use of linguistic and discourse strategies in media constructions of the Finance Bill 2023 in Kenyan newspapers. Using the tenets of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) as enunciated by Fairclough's three-dimensional model of discourse, the research analyses the three April-March newspapers covering the 2023 Finance Bill, specifically the Daily Nation and the Standard in the period between March and July, 2023. Specifically, it draws attention to lexical and evaluational language, metaphor and figurative language as well as discursive strategy of representation and framing. The study reveals that the papers do not assume a passive or neutral reporting mode in their presentation of the 2023 Finance Bill, rather, they actively constructed various interpretations of the finance Bill through, for instance, a wide variety of lexemes and evaluative vocabulary used to depict the Finance bill in terms of its potential role in reforming the economy, causing citizens unbearable financial distress, and threatening the well-being of the citizenry in various ways. Also evident are various metaphorics and figures of speech which brought to fore salient concepts of the Bill such as the economic strain/burden, financial distress/pressure, livelihood as a burden and necessity or a quest for financial prosperity; also apparent are other discursive strategies of foregrounding government, opposition and public citizens' voices that helped construct the Finance Bill as sites of a multidirectional interaction and conflict.

Ushbu ishda Rosaceae oilasiga mansub Rosa canina L. o‘simligining farmakologik xususiyatlari va uning urug‘laridan olinadigan quruq ekstraktning biologik potensiali bo‘yicha ilmiy adabiyotlar tahlil qilindi. Rosa canina L. tarkibida fenolik birikmalar, flavonoidlar, karotinoidlar, organik kislotalar, vitaminlar hamda yog‘ kislotalari kabi biologik faol moddalar mavjudligi aniqlangan. Adabiyot ma’lumotlariga ko‘ra, o‘simlik xomashyosi va undan olingan preparatlar antioksidant, yallig‘lanishga qarshi, gepatoprotektor va immunomodulyator faollik namoyon qilishi mumkin. Ayniqsa, urug‘lar tarkibidagi to‘yinmagan yog‘ kislotalari va boshqa lipofil komponentlar ulardan olinadigan ekstraktlarni farmatsevtik nuqtayi nazardan o‘rganish uchun muhim ahamiyatga ega. O‘simlikning biologik faol moddalari miqdori geografik kelib chiqishi, iqlim va tuproq sharoitlari, o‘simlikning rivojlanish bosqichi, xomashyoni yig‘ish vaqti hamda ekstraksiya texnologiyasiga bog‘liq ravishda o‘zgarishi mumkin. Shu sababli O‘zbekiston sharoitida o‘sadigan Rosa canina L. urug‘laridan standartlashtirilgan quruq ekstrakt olish va uning farmakologik xususiyatlarini o‘rganish dolzarb ilmiy yo‘nalishlardan biri hisoblanadi.
