The digitization of documentary collections produced by public institutions expands opportunities for information preservation and access while simultaneously increasing challenges related to privacy and the protection of sensitive personal data. In this context, the medico-legal reports maintained by the Institute of Social Medicine and Criminology of São Paulo (IMESC) are particularly significant, as the institution's collection comprises approximately 850,000 documents containing highly sensitive personal information. This article aims to analyze strategies for aligning such collections with the requirements of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), with a particular focus on anonymization and digital curation. The study is based on a bibliographic and documentary review drawing upon literature from the fields of Information Science, Archival Science, Bioethics, and Data Protection. The findings indicate that the primary anonymization techniques currently employed are k-anonymity, l-diversity, t-closeness, and differential privacy. Although differential privacy is widely regarded as the most robust approach from a mathematical perspective, the combination of k-anonymity, l-diversity, and t-closeness remains the most commonly adopted strategy in governmental and medico-legal contexts due to its operational feasibility and its ability to preserve the informational utility of data. The study concludes that anonymization, when combined with digital curation and information governance practices, constitutes a fundamental mechanism for protecting sensitive data, enabling documentary preservation, scientific knowledge production, and the safeguarding of data subjects' fundamental rights.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. This study analyzes the guidelines on the use of artificial intelligence in 109 journals indexed in LATINDEX, distributed across seven areas of knowledge, through qualitative document analysis. The results indicate that all journals make some mention of the use of AI, with a consensus that AI tools cannot be listed as authors and that responsibility for the manuscript rests exclusively with human authors. Uses such as linguistic support and data analysis are permitted with explicit declaration, while autonomous content generation and image manipulation are prohibited. Approximately 85% of the journals align with international guidelines, with observed disciplinary variations. It is concluded that, although an initial normative framework centered on human authorship and transparency exists, gaps in standardization persist, making it urgent to establish uniform policies that guarantee scientific integrity in the face of technological advances.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. Mental health has emerged as a growing area of interest within Information Science, particularly in light of the transformations brought about by digital technologies and the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this context, this study aimed to analyze the scientific production on mental health in the field of Information Science, identifying thematic trends, leading authors, institutions, and research gaps. This exploratory and bibliographic study adopted a bibliometric approach to examine publications indexed in the Brazilian Database of Information Science (BRAPCI). The search retrieved 87 valid documents published between 2007 and 2025. The findings revealed a significant increase in publications from 2020 onward, a period associated with the effects of the pandemic and the intensification of discussions on emotional well-being, information overload, and the use of digital technologies. The most frequent keywords included mental health, bibliotherapy, libraries, pandemic, and COVID-19, highlighting the relationship between information, reading practices, health, and care strategies. The study also identified authors and institutions that play a central role in consolidating this research field, particularly the Federal University of Paraíba and the Federal University of Bahia. The results indicate that mental health is an emerging and expanding topic within Information Science. However, research gaps remain regarding information behavior, infodemics, and public policies, pointing to important opportunities for future investigations.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. The Lonarte Extension Program, part of the State University of Londrina, has been working for six years on the reuse of post-consumer PVC banners through products manufactured by women's groups associated with the Municipal Solidarity Economy Program, generating employment and income. Additionally, the program promotes environmental education initiatives through lectures and workshops aimed at ten-year-old children. Within this context, the present study seeks to understand how the knowledge network established within the program generates social innovation. Thus, the research aims to analyze the different types of knowledge present in the network — with particular emphasis on tacit knowledge — as well as the information flows among actors and the implementation of innovations, to identify possible changes capable of strengthening cooperation and expanding innovative processes. Methodologically, this is a qualitative and exploratory study, based on bibliographic research, documentary analysis, and a case study approach. The analysis indicates that the social innovation achieved by the project results from the interactions among multiple actors and their diverse forms of knowledge, demonstrating the importance of knowledge exchange in achieving innovative and territorialized solutions.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. This paper investigates the challenges of digital transformation in small municipalities, focusing on the case of Candói, Brazil. The research aims to diagnose the sociotechnical and institutional bottlenecks that hinder interoperability among municipal secretariats, which often lead to information silos and operational inefficiency. Using a qualitative approach, the study examines how the fragmentation of administrative systems perpetuates a "vicious cycle of ambiguity," hindering the effective implementation of digital governance. The methodology involves the development of a Situational Diagnostic Report and a Digital Governance Guidelines Guide, intended to assist managers in streamlining administrative processes. Preliminary results indicate that overcoming organizational stagnation requires a transition from mere bureaucratic digitization to a strategic focus on system interoperability and process simplification. The study concludes that innovation in processes, when aligned with the directives of Law No. 14.129/2021, acts as an essential infrastructure for public value, promoting equity in service access and administrative efficiency. This research provides a practical framework for small municipalities to improve their digital maturity and institutional trust.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. Advances in digital infrastructures and the increasing incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) systems into different spheres of social life have produced significant transformations in the ways knowledge is accessed, produced, validated, and used. In environments characterized by hyperconnectivity and intense algorithmic mediation, processes of knowing are increasingly constituted by complex socio-technical systems in which individuals, algorithms, digital platforms, institutions, and informational infrastructures interact. In this context, responsibility for knowledge processes can no longer be attributed exclusively to individuals, requiring approaches that take into account its distributed nature. This paper aims to contribute to a broader understanding of epistemic responsibilities in contexts mediated by AI technologies by articulating the concepts of epistemic responsibility, distributed epistemic responsibility, and infraethics. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative, theoretical-reflective approach grounded in a critical review of interdisciplinary literature drawn from the Philosophy of Information, Information Ethics, social epistemology, and AI studies. The discussion highlights that the promotion of epistemically responsible practices depends not only on individuals' cognitive capacities but also on the structural, institutional, and technological conditions that shape informational environments. It is concluded that the articulation between epistemic responsibility and infraethics provides a relevant framework for understanding the ethical and epistemological challenges of contemporary processes of knowing mediated by artificial intelligence systems.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. This article proposes a brief inquiry, aimed at understanding and discussing what the notion of finality, following the development of the concept by the philosopher Gérard Lebrun, might contribute to understanding the division between ancient and modern ethics as historically addressed by Michel Foucault. It does so through interpretive research on articles by two contemporary authors in the theoretical field of Information Science, Rafael Capurro and Luciano Floridi. Furthermore, it considers how an understanding of finality may, in turn, establish a theoretical division within these authors, improving our understanding of their philosophical foundations. We believe it has been possible to contextualize, in light of the specific concept adopted, a relationship in which the integration of phenomenological concepts by Capurro and skeptical concepts by Floridi denotes the authors' choices within ethical divisions internalized in both periods (ancient and modern), with Capurro's balance leaning toward the polis and Floridi's toward the forum.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. This artifact contains the datasets, scripts, and analysis notebooks used in our study of Cookiecutter template testing. It includes the collected Cookiecutter templates, the scripts used for processing and testing, and the notebooks used to analyze and summarize the experimental results.
The artifact contents are organized as follows:
Cookiecutter_templates_script.ipynbA Jupyter notebook collects Cookiecutter templates and performs initial dataset analysis. It provides statistics about the collected repositories, including programming language distribution, Cookiecutter variable types, and other dataset characteristics.
process_all_templates.pyA script used to execute the proposed five-stage testing pipeline on the complete collection of target Cookiecutter templates.
analysis.ipynbA Jupyter notebook analyzes the experimental results and extracts insights from the study, including detected errors, hook-related information, retired combinatorial test cases, and other findings.
cookiecutter_templates_workspace.zipThe raw dataset containing the 1,304 collected Cookiecutter template repositories used in our study.
cookiecutter_templates_workspace_*.zipThe resulting datasets after applying the testing pipeline to the collected Cookiecutter template repositories. The datasets contain the processed template repositories together with the generated testing results. Two types of algorithm runs are provided:
Unranked runs: cookiecutter_templates_workspace_M*.zip, where M denotes the size (cap) of the configuration space explored by the run, ranging from M1 to M10000 configurations. For example, cookiecutter_templates_workspace_M1000.zip corresponds to an unranked run with a configuration space of 1,000 combinations.
Randomized runs with fixed seeds: cookiecutter_templates_workspace_M*_R_S*.zip, where M denotes the size (cap) of the configuration space and S denotes the random seed used for selecting configurations. The provided randomized runs use seeds 7 and 42. For example, cookiecutter_templates_workspace_M1000_R_S7.zip corresponds to a run with 1,000 configurations using random seed 7, while cookiecutter_templates_workspace_M100_R_S42.zip corresponds to a run with 100 configurations using random seed 42.
The filename convention is:
M<N> → unranked run with a configuration space of N combinationsM<N>_R_S<K> → randomized run with a configuration space of N combinations using random seed K.
This artifact enables replication of the dataset collection, testing process, and analysis presented in the associated paper.
