Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic systemic autoimmune inflammatory disorder traditionally characterized by persistent synovitis, progressive cartilage destruction, bone erosion, pain, stiffness, functional impairment, and disability. Contemporary understanding, however, has moved beyond the concept of RA as a disease confined to synovial joints. The disease represents a complex interaction among genetic susceptibility, environmental exposures, mucosal immune activation, autoantibody formation, dysregulated innate and adaptive immunity, chronic cytokine signalling, and progressive structural damage. Extra-articular manifestations involving the lungs, cardiovascular system, skin, eyes, nervous system and other organs contribute substantially to morbidity and mortality. Recent evidence has also emphasized the possible contribution of smoking, periodontal inflammation, microbiome alterations and post-translational protein modifications such as citrullination to disease initiation and progression.
Early recognition and timely disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) therapy remain central to contemporary RA management. Treat-to-target strategies, shared decision-making, monitoring of disease activity, management of comorbidities, rehabilitation, lifestyle modification and prevention of treatment-related complications form important components of comprehensive care. Current American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) recommendations emphasize early DMARD initiation and individualized therapeutic escalation according to disease activity, prognostic factors, safety and patient preferences.
Homoeopathy has historically been used by some patients with chronic rheumatic disorders, including RA. Limited clinical studies have investigated individualized homoeopathic treatment, including a randomized controlled trial involving patients with established RA. A recent systematic review identified a small number of RA studies within the broader rheumatological literature but also highlighted the limited size and methodological heterogeneity of the available evidence. Consequently, homoeopathy should presently be considered an area requiring rigorous clinical investigation rather than an evidence-equivalent substitute for established disease-modifying treatment. This narrative review examines RA from its immunopathogenesis to systemic manifestations, contemporary clinical management, and the potential role and research requirements of individualized homoeopathic therapeutics.

Limited standalone result-verification package for the related Ocean Engineering manuscript. Contains all 80 evaluated terminal deterministic actors and paired observation-normalization statistics, frozen simulation/scenario/evaluation modules with a public numeric-artifact loader, recorded factorial/field/auxiliary data, a fixed 2400-row episode-0 reference subset, and independent statistics/integrity/replay-comparison scripts. Actor exports pass same-runtime parameter, normalization and action equivalence checks; four public-loader first-episode integrations match saved same-runtime native controls. Existing restoration of the original HPC runtime passed seven source-bound fixed first episodes at the original 1e-8 tolerance. These checks do not claim complete paper numerical reproduction or exported-actor HPC validation. Training code, intermediate weights, native critic/optimizer/schedule state, Python object serialization, full raw episode archive, field bags, deployment configuration, private repository history, paper files and photographs are excluded. The independent factorial unit is 20 matched training blocks. Auxiliary records retain their historical evidence limits; field CSVs are operator-supervised integration cases. Original engineering repository remains private. Reuse is solely for noncommercial research under the supplied custom OE Noncommercial Research License 1.0; commercial or non-research use requires separate permission. External dependencies retain their own licenses.
LIPID PROFILE PARAMETERS (TC, TG, HDL, AND LDL) AS CORRELATES OF ANTHROPOMETRIC PARAMETERS (BMI, WC, WHR, WHTR, BRI, AND VAI) AMONG PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS

The study sought to determine the correlation between lipid profile parameters (TC, TG, HDL, and LDL) and anthropometric parameters (BMI, WC, WHR, WHtR, BRI, and VAI) among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. In carrying out this study comparative cross-sectional study was adopted. The study population consisted of one hundred (100) diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients and one hundred (100) apparently healthy, age- and sex-matched non-diabetic individuals who served as controls. All participants were aged between 30 and 70 years. Ten (10) mL of venous blood samples were collected from each participant after overnight fast using standard aseptic procedures and distributed into appropriate tubes for the determination of fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), insulin, lipid profile, and oxidative stress markers. Serum and plasma were prepared by centrifugation at 3000 rpm for 10 minutes, while whole blood was used for selected analyses. The samples were analyzed using standard laboratory methods. Data obtained were analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 25.0. Results were expressed as Mean ± Standard Deviation. The test of significance was determined using independent samples t-test, while Pearson correlation analysis was used to assess relationships between variables, with p < 0.05 considered statistically significant. In conclusion lipid profile parameters, including total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), are important indicators of metabolic and cardiovascular health among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The result of the findings revealed that there was a significant negative correlation of superoxide dismutase (SOD) with body roundness index (BRI) (r = −0.207*, p = 0.039) in type 2 diabetic patients. There was a significant negative correlation of catalase (CAT) with body mass index (BMI) (r = −0.402*, p = 0.000), waist circumference (WC) (r = −0.329*, p = 0.001), and waist-to-height ratio (WHtR) (r = −0.211*, p = 0.035), while significant positive correlations were observed with waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) (r = 0.287*, p = 0.004) and BRI (r = 0.359*, p = 0.000) in type 2 diabetic patients The study concluded that lipid profile parameters, including total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), are important indicators of metabolic and cardiovascular health among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. One of the recommendations made was that patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus should undergo regular lipid profile and anthropometric assessments to facilitate early identification of dyslipidaemia and abnormal adiposity.

However, additionality is weakened where NGO support creates dependency, where group leaders capture decisions, where groups divert loans away from productive use, and where weak markets reduce returns to agricultural investment. Objective: This article measures the additionality of NGO-promoted community saving and lending groups in Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan. Methods: The article converts thesis-based evidence on Community Group Saving and Lending mechanisms into a counterfactual evaluation paper, using the survey evidence of 85 respondents and the qualitative interview evidence of 17 participants as a basis for reconstructing comparison logic. The paper applies a mixed-methods evaluation design. Results: Additionality is understood as the net change in rural financial behaviour and agricultural investment that can reasonably be attributed to NGO facilitation after accounting for what would probably have happened without the intervention. Conclusion: The article asks whether NGO promotion simply formalises savings practices that communities would have developed anyway, or whether it creates a measurable increment in savings discipline, credit access, agricultural input purchase, technology adoption, and household resilience.

Abstract
This study investigated the effect of an Artificial Intelligence-Driven Adaptive Learning Platform (AI-DALP) on secondary school students’ retention in Chemistry within the Onitsha Education Zone of Anambra State, Nigeria. The study specifically assessed the difference in delayed retention between students taught using AI-DALP and those taught using the Conventional Teaching Method (CTM) after controlling for immediate posttest performance, as well as whether retention differed by gender within the adaptive learning environment. Guided by two research questions and two null hypotheses tested at the 0.05 level of significance, the study adopted a quasi-experimental non-randomised pretest–posttest control-group design. The population comprised 548 Senior Secondary School II (SS2) Chemistry students across 22 public co-educational schools. Through purposive sampling based on ICT infrastructure availability, a sample of 59 students (30 in the AI-DALP group and 29 in the CTM group) was selected. The intervention lasted six weeks, covering Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Halogens, followed by a delayed retention test administered two weeks after the posttest. Data were collected using a 50-item Chemistry Achievement Test (CAT), validated by three experts, with an internal consistency reliability coefficient of 0.82 established using the Kuder–Richardson 20 (KR-20) formula. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) with posttest scores as the covariate. The results indicated that students exposed to AI-DALP achieved significantly higher adjusted retention mean scores than those taught via CTM after controlling for posttest performance. Additionally, no statistically significant difference was observed in retention scores between male and female students taught using AI-DALP after accounting for posttest performance. The study concluded that AI-DALP effectively enhances durable Chemistry learning among secondary school students regardless of gender.
