Plant phenotyping is the quantitative analysis of plant structures, functions, and performance, measuring traits like growth, yield, and stress acclimation. It combines sensing technologies with AI to evaluate how genotypes respond to environmental conditions—a crucial process for plant breeding and enhancing crop resilience. The protocol described here is suitable for the PlantEye F500 laser scanning system located within the PHENOPLANT phenotyping platform at the University of Turin.
The system enables non-destructive measurement of plant morphological traits using 3D laser scanning and multispectral imaging.

Drawing on semi-structured interviews with ten over-age migrant workers (rural-to-urban migrants who remain employed past the statutory retirement age) conducted in northern Henan in 2025, this paper applies the threefold framework of bonding, bridging, and linking social capital to examine how the four predicaments these workers face—economic distress, restricted access to employment, inadequate health care and old-age security, and weak protection of labor rights—are generated. The analysis finds that the four predicaments are intertwined and reinforce each other, forming a self-sustaining cycle whose source lies in a structural imbalance among the three types of capital: bonding capital is dense yet homogeneous, bridging capital is thin in stock, and linking capital is markedly absent, leaving the vertical ties of institutional access severed. Because the resources available to this group do not match the nature of their needs, risks that ought to be resolved through the institutional access provided by linking capital are instead absorbed within horizontal networks, that is, by bonding and bridging capital. The paper concludes that governance should target the structure of relational resources rather than their volume, giving priority to establishing vertical institutional channels, opening horizontal outlets, and easing the burden on families.

Python implementation of the unfitted hybrid high-order (HHO) method for the elastic wave equation in a medium made of two components separated by an imperfect interface of linear slip type, together with the drivers that reproduce every table and figure of the accompanying paper by P. Huang and E. Burman. The code is self-contained (NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, Matplotlib): exact polygon clipping for the cut geometry, hierarchical orthonormal bases on cut subcells and subfaces, a simplified two-stage cell agglomeration, the local strain reconstruction incorporating the interface condition, and Newmark and SDIRK(s,s+1) time stepping. The raw results of the production runs are included, so the tables and figures can be rebuilt in seconds without repeating the computations.

This study examines the ecosystem services provided by a full-scale semi-intensive green roof installed at the University of Catania (Sicily, Italy), located in a Mediterranean urban context characterized by alternating drought periods and intense rainfall events. The system was equipped with an extensive multi-parametric monitoring network measuring different classes, i.e. meteo, air, vegetation, substrate, runoff, energy exchanges. These data support the evaluation of key Regulation and Maintenance services, including stormwater attenuation, hydrological flow regulation, microclimate mitigation, habitat provision, and water and air quality improvement, as well as Cultural services related to aesthetic, educational, and recreational benefits. The comparative assessment of three green roof technologies and a conventional roof allows for the identification of how design characteristics influence ecosystem services delivery. The work also outlines the methodological framework adopted to integrate biophysical measurements with perception-based evidence collected through surveys. This approach provides a comprehensive basis for understanding the multifunctional role of green roofs within Mediterranean cities.

Inadequate physical preparation, improper posture while sitting or standing, prolonged activities without adequate rest such as long-distance walking, and excessive loading during physical activity or exercise may cause pelvic injuries, resulting in pain and restricted movement. Pelvic injuries can be managed through various approaches, including effleurage therapy combined with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF). This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of combined effleurage and PNF therapy in increasing range of motion (ROM) and movement function and reducing pain in patients with pelvic injuries receiving treatment at the Health and Sport Center of Yogyakarta State University (UNY). A pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was used, involving 15 patients with pelvic disorders. Pain intensity was assessed using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), ROM was measured using a goniometer, and movement function was evaluated using the Harris Hip Score. Participants received a single approximately 30-minute session combining effleurage and PNF techniques. Pretest and posttest data were compared using a paired t-test or Wilcoxon signed-rank test, as appropriate. Pain intensity decreased from 7.0 ± 0.92 to 2.4 ± 0.91 (65%; p = 0.000). Flexion increased from 68.2 ± 11.7 to 120.8 ± 9.1 (77%; p = 0.000), extension from 13.8 ± 2.7 to 24.2 ± 4.0 (76%; p = 0.000), abduction from 18.1 ± 3.3 to 30.4 ± 5.0 (78%; p = 0.000), adduction from 11.2 ± 1.5 to 20.1 ± 1.2 (69%; p = 0.000), internal rotation from 16.6 ± 4.5 to 29.3 ± 4.6 (77%; p = 0.000), and external rotation from 26.4 ± 3.5 to 37.5 ± 3.9 (30%; p = 0.000). Movement function increased from 51.8 ± 7.8 to 75.1 ± 8.2 (45%; p = 0.000). These findings indicate that combined effleurage and PNF therapy is effective in reducing pain and improving ROM and joint movement function and may therefore be considered as a therapeutic approach for pelvic injuries.
