Estimates of flood damage to households in Denmark rest mainly
on insurance payouts. Payouts capture only part of the cost of flood
risk. This paper identifies potential data sources for the full cost
that storm surges and cloudbursts impose on households. To estab-
lish which data are needed, I first develop a theoretical framework for
the household cost of flood risk. The framework records costs in two
ledgers, one for the household and one for the rest of society, and sep-
arates resource costs from transfers. It covers costs that arise when a
flood occurs, such as uninsured and non-material damage, and costs of
living with the risk, such as adaptation, risk-bearing and loss aversion.
For each element, I discuss how the data needed to measure it could
be obtained. I find that most of the cost borne by households is not
recorded anywhere today. Data availability reflects how each hazard
is insured: storm surge claims are well documented, whereas cloud-
burst insurance data are old and fragmented. Danish registers allow
health care use, work and moves to be followed, but only if flooded
households can be identified. Identifying who was flooded, when and
how badly is therefore the main constraint. I recommend a recurring
panel survey of flooded and unflooded households, linked to claims
records and national registers.

This document compiles the parameters of the various layers of the simulated antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) solar cell, as well as the data from the numerical simulation using the SCAPS-1D software that was used to plot various curves. The physical parameters generated by SCAPS-1D primarily include the short-circuit current density (Jsc), the open-circuit voltage (Voc), the form factor (FF), and the power conversion efficiency (PCE). In addition, the software made it possible to extract essential supplementary data, namely the external quantum efficiency (EQE) and the charge carrier recombination rate.

Literary translation represents a complex form of intercultural communication in which translators mediate not only between languages but also between cultural systems. The transfer of a literary work into English requires decisions concerning cultural identity, historical references, social values, traditions, symbolism, and culturally embedded meanings. This article examines literary translation as a form of cultural mediation and focuses on the preservation of cultural identity and cultural meaning in English translations. The study employs a qualitative review and analytical approach based on contemporary translation studies and theoretical research concerning cultural transfer. Particular attention is paid to culture-specific items, literary style, historical references, metaphor, idiomatic expressions, and forms of social interaction. The analysis demonstrates that linguistic accuracy alone cannot guarantee successful cultural representation. Translation may preserve the denotative meaning of an expression while altering its cultural associations or pragmatic function. The article argues that cultural mediation requires a balance between accessibility for English-speaking readers and the preservation of source-cultural specificity. The translator therefore performs an interpretive and mediating function that is central to the international circulation of literature.

For computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) to unfold its potential for learning, fruitful interaction between the learners is indispensable. The field of CSCL has for many years been concerned with the analyses of collaborative process data, in order to shed light on the processes at play during collaborative learning, to understand how these processes support student learning, and to investigate how collaboration can be promoted by instructional means. However, analyzing collaborative learning processes is laborious and extremely time consuming. There seems to be an inextricable tension between analytical depth and amount of data that can be analyzed: that is, analyzing little data in great detail vs. a larger dataset more coarsely. Given that in CSCL settings usually digital data of learners’ activities accrue, great hope has been put on learning analytics to help overcome this obstacle and enable in depth collaborative process analyses at scale. So, like in a marriage, there clearly is affection between the two fields and one may wonder: what is it that attracts them so much to each other? But it is also true for marriage that after the honeymoon, when the partners get to know each other better and spend their daily life together, they may notice that not everything between them fits so well. They may even wonder: Are there still enough good reasons for staying together or should we get a divorce? In my keynote, I will explore these questions with a view on the “marriage” between the fields of CSCL and Learning Analytics.

The rapid growth of monolithic construction has significantly increased the demand for high-performance formwork systems capable of improving construction efficiency, structural quality, and economic performance. Conventional formwork materials, including timber, steel, and aluminum, have been widely adopted in modern construction; however, they continue to exhibit several limitations such as high self-weight, susceptibility to corrosion, limited service life, geometric instability, and increased maintenance costs. These challenges have encouraged researchers to investigate alternative materials with superior mechanical and durability characteristics. The analysis indicates that BFRP composites possess a unique combination of high specific strength, low density, excellent corrosion resistance, and long-term durability, making them promising candidates for next-generation formwork systems. Nevertheless, despite the extensive application of BFRP in structural reinforcement and bridge engineering, its use in permanent and reusable formwork systems remains insufficiently investigated. This study identifies the existing research gap and proposes future research directions focused on structural optimization, numerical modeling, experimental validation, and sustainable design of composite formwork systems. The findings provide a scientific basis for developing lightweight, durable, and environmentally sustainable formwork technologies for modern monolithic construction.

This study analyzes cybercrimes through the INFOETHICS developed by Luciano Floridi, understanding them not only as technical or legal offenses but as phenomena that structurally affect the integrity of the contemporary infosphere. The research adopts a qualitative, theoretical-analytical approach, grounded in a literature review and interpretative analysis of empirical cases related to privacy, disinformation, intellectual property, access to information, and digital security. The theoretical framework brings together the contributions of Floridi (2013; 2023) and authors such as Helen Nissenbaum, Shoshana Zuboff, Manuel Castells, Lawrence Lessig, Cass Sunstein, and Wardle and Derakhshan. The analysis demonstrates that the five ethical pillars of INFOETHICS operate interdependently, producing simultaneous impacts on different dimensions of social, political, and institutional life. The cases examined show that practices such as digital surveillance, ransomware attacks, large-scale data exploitation, automated disinformation, and conflicts involving generative artificial intelligence go beyond the technological domain and compromise fundamental conditions of trust, participation, and informational stability. It is concluded that exclusively technical or regulatory approaches are insufficient to address the complexity of cybercrimes, requiring governance models capable of integrating ethics, technology, and information management to preserve the integrity of the infosphere.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação. Software development is a significant portion of the effort in today’s SoC designs, making software productivity a major challenge. High-level programming languages and extensive libraries address this challenge, but another effective solution is the use of code generators. Special and customized CPU instructions are crucial for low-level tasks (e.g. CSR configuration) and compute-intensive applications like machine learning inference, as they help meet Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) requirements. However, these instructions often cannot be automatically inferred by compilers from high-level languages like C or RUST and must be explicitly coded using intrinsic notations. Code generation offers a promising solution by supporting various intrinsics across different CPU cores and variants, enabling portable, automated embedded software development. This paper discusses the key drivers and challenges in intrinsic design and proposes a structured approach to generating portable code with intrinsic notations using formal models for the software and the involved cores. This approach effectively addresses productivity challenges while meeting PPA constraints and has been successfully applied to code generation for commercially used RISC-V variants, demonstrating its industry relevance.

This study assessed the financial viability and bankability of a 50 MW hydropower plant at Pwalugu, Ghana, using the IAEA’s FINPLAN model. Under base-case conditions of a 50% capacity factor, a tariff of GHS 1.00/kWh and export credit at 14%, the project is viable, with a net present value (NPV) of GHS 1,931 and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 18.5%. Output is the dominant risk: reducing the capacity factor from 50% to 30% cuts NPV by about 70%, and below about 22% the project is no longer viable. At 20%, NPV turns negative, and first dividends slip from about 2034 to about 2053. The break-even tariff is about 0.43 GHS/kWh. Cheaper export credit adds little value in the base case, but under severe drought the project breaks even only if credit costs 10% or less. Debt service is most constrained during loan repayment (2031–2045). The study recommends that project sizing consider the drought-year capacity factor and additional solar generation during the drought season. Again, policy regulators are advised to set power purchase agreement (PPA) tariffs with a clear margin that supports project viability and aligns with society's ability to pay. Finally, project planners should negotiate concessional export credit at or below 10% to support income generation even during the drought season.
