Africa's vast natural wealth stands in stark contrast to its enduring poverty and economic stagnation – a contradiction rooted in colonial legacies that established extractive institutions and external dependencies. Today, the continent remains heavily reliant on raw material exports, with intra-African trade accounting for just 13.8% of total trade. This over-dependence has stifled diversification and reinforced structural vulnerabilities. This essay examines the historical and systemic factors that have shaped Africa's economic trajectory, arguing that sustainable transformation requires industrialization, financial inclusion, and regional integration. It introduces three innovative economic models: skill-backed lending to expand financial access through competencies rather than collateral; apprenticeship-for-ownership programs to promote equity and transfer of productive assets; and the One-Continent, One-Supply Chain policy to build an integrated African production network. By investing in bold policy reforms, strategic regional cooperation, and community-driven enterprises, Africa can start a path toward economic autonomy and inclusive, long-term growth.

Cognitive linguistics has been thriving since 1970s, concerning the mental phenomena, concepts, actions. Frame semantics reveals the conceptual character of words, terms. Within cognitive linguistics, such categories as concept, script, frame, gestalt, and mental model play a significant role in investigating the structure of knowledge represented in the human mind. This paper explores the data about cognitive linguistics and frame semantics and scholar’s attitudes to the conceptual schematization of mental phenomena.

Artificial Intelligence stands out across various sectors of society and is expanding in a very pinpointed way. Algorithms are beginning to play a strategic, intentional, and rapid role, highly present on social networks, chatbot responses, general service platforms, among others. In the educational sector, it is no different, and starting from the principle that the learning process is necessary throughout life, learning about what, how, and to whose benefit AI is on the side is fundamental for its use with critical analysis of AI, ethics, inside and outside educational institutions. This article aims to promote a discussion on some current competencies needed in the field of AI use, specifically with regard to information literacy. Through a bibliographic research, documents such as Brazil's public policies on AI use, UNESCO's AI Ethics Recommendation, and also documents from the Brazilian Ministry of Education were analyzed. As results after analyzing these documents, a concern among different bodies regarding regulating AI use in an "adequate" way was observed, but it is concluded that unlike the past Digital Information and Communication Technologies, regulation of AI use is a challenge due to the constant transformation it undergoes based on information as data, processes and knowledge. Simultaneously, there is a growing demand for digital literacy and critical evaluation regarding the use of artificial intelligence.Conference abstract published in the proceedings of TOI2026 — XII Congresso Internacional em Tecnologia e Organização da Informação.
