This article examines Mahmudkhoja Behbudi’s journalistic legacy and its significance in the formation and development of Uzbek national journalism. The study treats Behbudi’s journalism not as an isolated literary activity but as a coordinated program of public enlightenment that linked the press with educational reform, linguistic modernization, civic discussion, national self-awareness, publishing, and cultural renewal. On the basis of recent Uzbek and foreign scholarship published mainly within the last decade, as well as modern studies of the newspaper Samarqand and the journal Oyina, the article analyzes the thematic structure, editorial principles, communicative strategies, and historical functions of Behbudi’s publicistic writing. Particular attention is paid to his understanding of the newspaper and journal as institutions capable of shaping public opinion, widening the social circulation of knowledge, and creating a new intellectual audience in Turkestan. The analysis shows that Behbudi contributed to Uzbek journalism in at least four interconnected dimensions: he expanded the thematic range of the national press; strengthened the explanatory and analytical character of journalistic prose; established an editorial model based on public dialogue and social responsibility; and connected national journalism with transregional Muslim reformist networks. His experience with Samarqand and Oyina also demonstrates that the emergence of modern Uzbek journalism was inseparable from struggles over education, language, censorship, readership, and cultural modernization. Behbudi’s legacy therefore remains important not only as a historical phenomenon but also as a foundational stage in the development of professional Uzbek publicistic thought and national media culture.

ABSTRACT:
The failure of early-stage start-ups is conventionally attributed to financial constraints or inadequate product–market fit; however, limited scholarly attention has been paid to the role of human resource scalability in organizational success. This study examines how Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) influences sustainable growth during the critical transition from Series A to Series C funding stages. Grounded in a pragmatic research philosophy, the study employs a mixed-methods approach, integrating quantitative data from 52 start-ups with qualitative insights from 10 semi-structured interviews involving founders and Chief People Officers. The findings reveal a crucial organizational inflection point between 30 and 50 employees, where reliance on informal, founder-centric HR practices results in the accumulation of “People Debt,” characterized by inconsistent hiring processes and the absence of codified organizational culture. Statistical analysis demonstrates a strong positive correlation (r = 0.82) between structured onboarding practices and successful scaling outcomes. Additionally, the study identifies the phenomenon of the “Glassdoor Dip,” a decline in employee sentiment during rapid expansion phases, which can be effectively mitigated through the implementation of formalized HR systems. To address these challenges, the research proposes two novel conceptual frameworks: the “Scaling HR Roadmap” and the “Strategic Guardrails Model.” These frameworks illustrate the necessity of transitioning from flexible, informal HR practices to standardized, strategically aligned systems such as Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and values-based recruitment to sustain organizational coherence and performance. The study concludes that the rate of HR professionalization must parallel or exceed organizational growth to prevent operational inefficiencies and ensure long-term competitiveness. The findings contribute to the growing discourse on SHRM by positioning human capital management as a central determinant of scalable advantage in the digital economy.

This study aimed to characterize digital media (DM) use in Swiss children aged 0 to 5 years, focusing on child access to different types of digital devices, duration of use, as well as the content and context of screen use. A sample of 4’173 parents living in Switzerland with at least one child aged 0 to 5 years (M = 38.4 months, SD = 17.2 months) completed a cross-sectional online survey between February 2023 and May 2024. To reach a socio-economically diverse sample, we also collaborated with family support organizations and a panel platform. The survey encompassed demographics, accessibility of DM devices, duration of DM activities, content characteristics, and contextual circumstances of DM use. Results suggest that on average, children aged 0 to 5 spent 71.5 (SD = 75.7) minutes daily with DM, with higher use reported as the child gets older. Approximately half of the duration of DM use consisted of non-screen-based activities, such as listening to audio. Regarding the type of devices, handheld devices such as smartphones and tablets were most dominant, while TV use was comparably limited. Parents reported prioritizing age-appropriate and entertaining content, with common motivations for child screen use including educational purposes, having time for oneself or other tasks, and calming the child. Findings allow to compare DM use of young children in Switzerland relative to results from other countries, highlighting that DM use by young children in Switzerland generally follows official recommendations.

Clinical, biological, imaging and cerebrospinal fluid data of 120 patients explored for cognitive impairment in the memory and geriatric medicine units of Reims University Hospital in 2023 and 2024. Each row holds one patient, with an anonymous key, the aetiological diagnosis (pure AD, mixed AD or non-AD) and 89 variables of the diagnostic work-up, including the Fazekas score of white matter hyperintensities and the seven routine cerebrospinal fluid markers. The file CLASMA_data_dictionary.csv describes every variable. The data carry no name, no date of birth, no date of sampling and no hospital record number, and the rows are shuffled. Access stays restricted, and the corresponding author grants it after an academic request. These data support the article The Fazekas score complements routine CSF biomarkers in mixed Alzheimer's disease.

Summary
This milestone report provides a first overview of the successful deployment of camera traps and audio moths for the BMD project. At the time of writing 12 camera traps and 3 audiomoths were shared with stakeholders and are deployed in the field. Unfortunately, the camera trap that was deployed in Poland was stolen, which was confirmed by a police report.
Section 1 outlines the objective of the milestone on high-throughput datasets capture. Section 2 describes strategies that were developed to engage stakeholders with dataset capture, followed by section 3 on the ARISE DSI portal that is developed to provide non-scientific communities with high-throughput data management tools, AI species identification algorithms, and data export services. Section 4 describes the most frequently reported issues to further guide the developments and tutorials.
BMD has so far organised two stakeholder workshops on deploying high-throughput biodiversity monitoring devices and the capture of dataset, and has developed three tutorials. The first on the effective deployment of camera traps, the second on the analysis of data with the ARISE DSI portal, and the third on sharing data with GBIF. To better align with the operational needs of key stakeholders the ARISE DSI portal has undergone targeted functional enhancements and is continuously further developed and improved. One key feature that was added is the export of identifications in the Camtrap Data Package format that seamlessly shares data with GBIF, which is a requirement for downstream data analysis by the BMD Biodiversity Analysis Tools (BATs). To avoid recurring issues with the deployment of devices a ‘Lessons Learned’ section addresses five topics.
