The origin of the Standard Model's three generations, fermion mass hierarchies and mixing parameters remains unknown. This paper investigates whether they are fixed by how a quantum field is recorded at the boundary of an observer's causal diamond.
One recording event at the diamond boundary carries a single oriented flux on the direction sphere Sᵈ⁻². Detection squares the flux into an existence flag and a quadrupole, and a chiral record that keeps its sign adds the dipole, so one record carries exactly V₀ ⊕ V₁ ⊕ V₂ and no higher modes. The closed algebra of this content is M₃(ℂ), the spin-one fuzzy two-sphere, and a matter-descent postulate then forces three generations. The axial skeleton of the algebra is the path graph P₃, whose Laplacian spectrum {0, 1, 3} is proportional to the angular Casimir spectrum {0, 2, 6} only in four spacetime dimensions. Two recording constants originate in the diamond boundary, the aperture transfer g = 1/d = 1/4 and the endpoint hazard λ = (d − 1)/(16π²), the rate at which a forming record is disrupted.
With the reduced Planck mass and one calibrated neutrino mass scale as the only other inputs, these give closed-form expressions for 19 observables across five flavour sectors and the electroweak scale. At tree level the charged-lepton masses follow the Casimir grading of the algebra, mₙ/mτ = gⁿ⁽ⁿ⁺¹⁾ at depth n, and endpoint corrections in the same constants bring both ratios within their estimated truncation floor, a few parts in 10⁵. The quark ratios ms/md = 20 and mc/mu = 512 lie 0.2σ and 0.4σ from lattice averages while the bottom sits 1.2 to 1.5% low, and one gauge-index formula organises the hierarchies of all three charged-fermion sectors. Taking the reduced Planck mass as the parent scale of the Higgs readout, the constants also fix h = 173.8 GeV, mh = 125.23 GeV and the charged-lepton pole masses at 0.050% RMS, with √(2λH) lying 0.22% above the measured mh/vF.
Independently of the recording constants, the graph fixes the CKM unitarity triangle at (90°, 22.5°, 67.5°) at leading order in the mixing. If the Majorana operator reads the graph through its signless incidence map, the neutrino spectrum has normal ordering with m₁ = 0 and obeys Δm²₂₁/Δm²₃₁ ≤ (3 − 2√2)², which the measured ratio reaches within its uncertainty. A placement of the charged leptons on the graph, chosen without mixing data, then gives sin²θ₂₃ = 1/2 and |δCP| = 90°.
Within the spectral Standard Model the P₃ matrices reduce the 31 flavour moduli to a locus with three parameters, the calibrated neutrino mass scale, a solar coefficient selected by data, and a Majorana phase that the record leaves open. The generations and most flavour parameters then follow from the angular content of a single record and two constants of the diamond boundary.

The growing complexity of residential energy environments, driven by smart devices, flexible loads (e.g., electric vehicle chargers and heat pumps), and time-varying retail tariffs, creates a need for practical and scalable Home Energy Management Systems (HEMS). This article presents OPTIHEMS, a novel HEMS platform built on top of an extensible multi-service orchestration engine. The platform follows a layered edge-to-cloud architecture that integrates heterogeneous smart home devices through standardized communication protocols, a containerized microservices backend, and a multi-layer data model combining time-series, document, and object storage to provide a clear transition path beyond basic monitoring. By providing a standardized data interface, this modular framework allows diverse, resource-intensive workflows to be progressively developed and co-executed without backend redesign. To demonstrate this capability, the platform hosts an advanced validation suite in real, occupied households (110 dwellings), allowing the development of demand forecasting, comfort modeling, heat pump scheduling, and load disaggregation modules, without modifying the baseline infrastructure. These deployments also map operational considerations currently under active review, including dependencies on broadband network reliability and disaggregation sensitivities under sparse appliance activations. The results demonstrate that OPTIHEMS provides a practical and extensible foundation for residential energy management, supporting the gradual transition from monitoring and cost awareness to demand-responsive household operation.

EXIOBASE 3: For best in class environmental-economic accounting data. Get insight into global supply-chains and the environmental impacts of consumption.
EXIOBASE 3 provides a time series of environmentally extended multi-regional input‐output (EE MRIO) tables for 44 countries (27 EU member plus 17 major economies) and five rest of the world regions.
EXIOBASE was set up by the EXIOBASE consortium, with XIO Sustainability Analytics now working on providing annual updates to the core economic, energy and emission tables. We welcome any collaborative efforts to further improve the database.
Updates are now being produced annually. Early access to future releases can be provided as part of research collaborations, get in contact if interested.
A special issue of Journal of Industrial Ecology (Volume 22, Issue 3) describes the build process and some use cases of EXIOBASE 3. This includes the article by Stadler et al. (2018) describing the compilation of EXIOBASE 3.

Licenses
Please ensure that you have understood the license conditions before use. Note that these conditions are significantly different to the license conditions of earlier versions, such as v3.8.
Non-commercial, academic useEXIOBASE v3.9 and later is released under a customized derivative of the CC-BY-SA-NC license, incorporating additional definitions as outlined in the license file.
Commercial useCommercial licenses, which allow for use for any case not covered in the non-commercial license are under development. For license enquiries or help in use of EXIOBASE data for spend-based emission factors, or other applications, please send an email.
The funding to be accumulated through licenses and support will be used to fund further updates of the database.
Now-casting
The core EXIOBASE 3 model is based on statistical supply and use tables that usually have a 1-2 year time lag. The time-series is expanded (i.e., now-casted) until current years using global trade data and macroeconomic data (IMF), as well as environmental data when available. Caution should be made when using now-casted data, due to the higher levels of data interpolation.
Capital endogenisation
Capital use matrices are estimated as an auxiliary dataset to these tables. They can be found at Capital use matrices for v3.8.2 and will be shortly updated for more recent versions. In the interim, it is recommended to use the coefficient form of that dataset for any work that requires capital endogenisation for v3.9 and later.
Processing the database
For a general introduction to environmentally extended input-output modelling, we refer to:
UN Handbook on Supply and Use Tables and Input Output-Tables with Extensions and Applications
Input-Output Analysis by Miller & Blair
The database is too large to handle in a standard spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel), and we recommend using programming languages such as Python, R, or Matlab. The open-source python package PyMRIO can be used to download and parse the database directly from Zenodo and do input-output analysis.
If you are interested in learning more about EXIOBASE or input-output modelling in general (including practical use of PyMRIO, how to develop custom models), please reach out.
Earlier versions and documentation
Previous versions (3.7, 3.8, 3.9 and 3.10) are also available on Zenodo. The even earlier public releases of the data (EXIOBASE v3.3 and v3.4) are available on request. We recommend, however, using the latest version due to significant updates of the economic data as well as major differences in energy, emissions, water and land use accounts.
The first documentation of EXIOBASE 3 was done via deliverables of the DESIRE project - these can now be accessed here.
The country disaggregated version, EXIOBASE 3rx, is available on Zenodo. It is no longer continued, but including more regions in the EXIOBASE classification is ongoing work. Reach out to exiobase-support@googlegroups.com, if interested in collaboration on integrating specific countries.
Concordance files are available here.
Future Updates and Announcements
Updates are now being produced annually, and a beta version of 3.12 is already under development. To stay updated, join the EXIOBASE group on LinkedIn and/or reach out to exiobase-support@googlegroups.com.
