IntroductionResearch on autism, sexual offending and sexual victimisation raises questions about representations of sexual agency, vulnerability and support. We examined how scientific abstracts construct autism in these contexts and the implications for interpreting research evidence.
MethodsFocused Scopus searches conducted in May 2025 and August 2026 yielded a corpus of 37 English-language abstracts of publications from 2020–2025 following substantive screening. Using Foucauldian discourse analysis, we examined connections between explanations, interpretive authority, subject positions and proposed institutional responses.
ResultsWe identified four intersecting discourses: medical, legal, rehabilitative and human rights discourses. Medical formulations connected diagnosis and individual characteristics to assessment and intervention; legal formulations foregrounded responsibility; rehabilitative formulations linked support to particular kinds of change; and human rights formulations emphasised experiential knowledge and equitable support. Competence, responsibility, functioning and participation operated as differing normative reference points. Clinical reasoning could coexist with attention to autistic people’s accounts and institutional barriers.
ConclusionsScientific abstracts help construct understandings of autistic people by linking explanations of behaviour and vulnerability to particular forms of expertise and support. The findings concern representations within a focused corpus, not population-level risk or demonstrated effects on policy or practice.
Policy ImplicationsPolicies and professional guidance drawing on this literature should distinguish diagnostic categories from behavioural explanations and claims about offending from those about victimisation. They should make the scope of risk claims explicit and consider institutional barriers and whose knowledge informs support. The findings encourage critical examination of policy assumptions rather than endorsement of specific interventions.

The local history book (more than 2000 pages) about Kiev, that explores early history period of Kievan Rus, and also pre-historic and pagan times. It addressing the city's origins and the past. Where is the Zmiyeva Cave located, and what is its connection to Perun cult? The pagan sites of the city and descriptions of all the Bald Mountains. Prophetic Oleg and Princess Olga are the same person? Why were there legends that Kiev was once Troy? Special attention in the book is given to the Kirilovskie Heights, with an overview of other mountains, as well as the Left Bank, its rivers, natural landmarks, and burial mounds that still exist today.

ABSTRACT
Utpal Mohanty’s “Tamara Number Keṭe?”(“What Is Your Number?”), published in Nāṁ Badaligalā Pare (2024), is a deceptively simple yet conceptually profound poem about the progressive numerical reduction of human identity in contemporary civilization. Beginning with the apparently casual question, “Tamara number keṭe?”—“What is your number?”—the poem develops a powerful anatomy of a culture in which the human being is increasingly known not by name, memory, relationship, character, or individuality but through a proliferating network of numbers. Sporting numbers, vehicle numbers, Aadhaar numbers, mobile numbers, registration numbers, flat numbers, plot numbers and crematorium numbers constitute the poem’s expanding numerical universe. What begins as an apparently innocuous system of identification gradually becomes an existential condition. The poem’s central irony lies in the fact that numbers, originally designed to facilitate human organization, gradually become substitutes for human identity itself. Mohanty therefore transforms the mundane vocabulary of everyday life into a critique of bureaucratic modernity, technological civilization, consumer capitalism, administrative rationality, surveillance, commodification and the depersonalization of death. The poem is particularly significant when read beside W. H. Auden’s “The Unknown Citizen,” in which an individual is remembered through an administrative code, “JS/07/M/378,” rather than through a personal name. Yet Mohanty extends Auden’s critique into the twenty-first-century Indian context, where numerical identification has penetrated food purchase, land purchase, banking, childhood registration, mobile communication, medical institutions, property and even the organization of the dead. Its comparative field may subsequently be extended to Louis MacNeice’s mass society, E. E. Cummings’s militarized individual, Wilfred Owen’s anonymous soldier, Siegfried Sassoon’s bureaucratically organized warfare, Robert Frost’s industrial casualty, William Blake’s exploited child labourer, Pablo Neruda’s commodified nations and Allen Ginsberg’s institutionalized and consumerized individuals. These poems reveal different mechanisms through which modern civilization converts persons into categories: person into number, citizen into statistic, individual into soldier, soldier into casualty, worker into labour-unit, child into commodity, nation into corporate property, and human being into anonymous product of mass civilization. The article argues that Mohanty’s poem is distinctive because it gathers many of these historical mechanisms into one governing symbol—the number—and brings them into the immediate everyday experience of contemporary India. The poem therefore represents a significant movement from Auden’s “unknown citizen” toward the twenty-first-century numbered human, whose existence is increasingly legible to institutions precisely because his or her singularity is increasingly translated into data. The poem’s culminating question, “Tā’hele tamara number keṭe?” (“Then, what is your number?”), reverses the ordinary function of identification and converts it into an ontological question: if every social institution knows us through a number, what remains of the person behind the number? This article argues that Mohanty’s poem should be understood as a major contemporary meditation on the transition from named identity to numerical identity, from person to data, from citizen to administrative unit, and finally from living subject to numbered corpse. Through irony, repetition, enumeration, semantic compression, structural progression and the juxtaposition of the living with the dead, Mohanty creates a distinctive poetics of numerical dehumanization.
