Objectives: This study aimed to develop a Shura-based collaboration mechanism, design an urban plan integrating physical structure, accessibility, spatial use, network areas, and social context, and implement and evaluate stakeholder collaboration within Taluban Municipality, Pattani Province. Methodology: The study employed purposive sampling to select 34 key informants from government, education, business, and community sectors in Taluban Municipality, all with at least five years of relevant experience. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions, and analyzed using descriptive and content analysis. Research Findings: The study identified six key elements in the Shura-based collaboration mechanism: leader selection, planning, admonition, systemization, responsibility allocation, and inspection. It also developed a City Atlas for Taluban Municipality as a learning city, addressing physical, spatial, and social dimensions. Four network groups—local government, education sector, private sector, and civil society—played distinct roles in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the mechanism according to their contexts and responsibilities. Contributions: The municipality was able to develop a collaborative mechanism among networks using the "Shura" process to effectively drive Taluban Municipality towards becoming a learning city, making it tangible and integrating it appropriately with the local context.Preservation copy of the original JOIS article. Objective: This research aims to evaluate the role of Shari'ah advisors in Islamic cooperatives in Thailand using the frameworks of Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) and Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB). Methodology: This qualitative research studied 13 Islamic cooperatives across six provinces, comprising five large, three medium, and five small cooperatives, through in-depth interviews with 25 key informants. Research Findings: The study found that cooperative size significantly affects Shari'ah advisors' structure and effectiveness. Large cooperatives have formal systems but may lack independence, medium-sized cooperatives offer flexibility but face coordination challenges, and small cooperatives have resource limitations but benefit from external advisors' neutral perspectives. Common challenges include the lack of a clear legal framework, absence of formal Shari'ah audit systems, varying compensation structures, and difficulties in integrating Shari'ah governance principles with existing cooperative governance guidelines. Contributions: The findings can be applied to develop legal frameworks and governance guidelines suitable for Thailand's context, as well as establish operational standards for Islamic cooperatives that align with their size and available resources.Preservation copy of the original JOIS article. Objectives: The research aimed to analyze the contents of Mawlid al-Barzanjī about Muhammad (SAW)'s expedition as Prophet and an Apostle to the universe, using Wilhelm Dilthey's hermeneutics theory. The study analyzed three concepts of Dilthey's approach in Mawlid al-Barzanjī: erlebnis, ausdruck and verstehen. Methodology: Qualitative descriptive research that uses literary study. The primary data was sourced from a Prose of Mawlid al-Barzanjī by Sayyid Ja'far, especially the 12th topic, the secondary data from several references about Dilthey's hermeneutic, Mawlid al-Barzanjī, and the of Prophet's history. The data was collected with the documentation technique. Research Findings: Three concepts of Dilthey's approach in Mawlid al-Barzanjī were found: 1), The erlebnis concept indicated a deep relation between the biography of prose's author and the history of prose. Second, the ausdruck concept showed the beautiful stylistic words, phrases, and senteces that expressed what the author intended through the verses of Mawlid. Third, the verstehen concept demonstrated the differences in time, the process, and the duties of Prophet's expedition between his being a prophet and an apostle. Contributions: This study contributes to the Arabic literature corpus with Dilthey's hermeneutics theory. In addition, considering that Indonesia is a country with a Muslim majority, this information can be used by Muslims in Indonesia and even in other countries also by historians to expand the study of the history of Muhammad SAW and then emulate every process of his life in carrying out his duties as Allah's caliph on earth.Preservation copy of the original JOIS article. Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the present level of Islamic financial literacy and inclusion of Muslims in five southern border provinces of Thailand as well as to analyse how they could influence financial decision-making and economic behaviour. Methodology: This study examines Islamic financial literacy and participation of Muslims in Thailand's five southernmost. A mixed-methods research design was employed, using questionnaires to collect quantitative data from Muslim sample and semi-structured interviews to gather qualitative data from workers in organisations that are associated with Islamic finance. Research findings: Based on the findings, respondents had basic Islamic financial knowledge but struggled with complex concepts. Despite awareness of Islamic financial services, there was a negative perception due to perceived similarities with conventional banks. Overall, financial literacy was neutral to positive. Additionally, over 50% of the participants were unable to access Islamic financial services. Key barriers comprised a lack of trust, high costs, and insufficient documentation, highlighting the need for improved education and tailored financial products. Contributions: This research contributes to the corpus of knowledge by gathering a significant amount of data on the patterns of Islamic financial inclusion and literacy and how they relate to Thailand's Islamic financial sector. Considering that there is a Muslim minority in Thailand, this information could be used to encourage economic growth in the larger community and to advertise business opportunities to all demographics. Additionally, this research adds to the body of literature by illuminating the significance of Islamic finance in expanding financial access in Thailand and its potential to strengthen the nation's financial market.Preservation copy of the original JOIS article. Objectives: This article examines Thai Muslims' political opinions on social media and the policies of political parties in Thailand's general election on 14 May 2023. Methodology: The authors employed the concept of political Islam as a framework to analyze and observe the political opinions of Muslims expressed through social media during the political parties' campaign period leading up to the May 14, 2023, election. The study period spanned from January to May 2023. The social media platforms examined included Facebook and its related features, such as Facebook pages, Reels, and Stories. The content analyzed encompassed Facebook pages of various news agencies, both from the broader Thai society and Muslim-specific outlets; pages of Muslim politicians; pages of various political parties; as well as personal Facebook accounts of Muslim scholars and the general Muslim populace. Research findings: The study revealed that Thai Muslims exhibit distinct characteristics compared to non-Muslims when expressing political opinions on Facebook. A segment of the Muslim population utilizes an Islamic worldview to support arguments against opposing views on Facebook, particularly concerning policies proposed by political parties. The research team analyzed the political opinions of Thai Muslims during the period leading up to the May 14, 2023, election, categorizing them into seven types: Conservative Perspective, Liberal Perspective, Malay/Muslim Perspective, Hybrid Perspective, Candidate-Centric Perspective, Abstention from Selecting Any Candidate or Political Party and Non-Participation in Voting. Contribution: The study introduces factors that potentially caused the differences among Muslim's political opinions. It explores how different groups of Thai Muslims prioritized social and political issues differently and how they conceived the information differently, particularly concerning Southern Thailand's unrest. In the future, the challenging prospect for Thai Muslims is probably to have a political party that can suit the demand and be "a hope" of the entire Muslim communities in Thailand beyond liberal or conservative parties.Preservation copy of the original JOIS article.
