The paper analyzes the interdependence of the digital transformation of the public sector, the effectiveness of public governance, and the quality of legal institutions in the context of ensuring social progress. The level of social development of states was assessed based on the Social Progress Index, the state of digital governance was assessed using the e-Government Development Index and the GovTech Maturity Index, and the capacity of the legal system was assessed using the Rule of Law Index of the World Justice Project. The empirical base includes states for which complete statistical data for 2024–2025 are available. To verify the proposed provisions, a set of statistical methods was used, including Spearman's rank coefficient, Kruskal–Wallis criterion, least squares method, categorical regression modeling, and a number of diagnostic procedures. Particular attention was paid to identifying multicollinearity, checking the independence of residuals, and assessing the stability of the resulting models. The results showed a close and statistically confirmed relationship between the level of social progress, the development of digital governance and compliance with the principles of the rule of law. The most pronounced relationship with social progress was demonstrated by the indicator of the development of e-government. The legal quality of institutions is also characterized by a consistent positive impact. At the same time, the GovTech indicator turned out to be less stable and largely depended on the chosen specification of the regression model. The identified interregional differences confirm the unevenness of social development, but do not refute the general trend. The proposition that sustainable social progress is formed primarily as a result of the interaction of digital management capabilities with effective legal institutions is substantiated.

This repository contains the replication materials for the study “From Market Access to Export Reorientation: Product-Level Evidence from the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.” The package includes Stata code, processed HS4-level analysis datasets, replication logs, tables, figures, and documentation used to reproduce the main empirical results and robustness analyses. The preferred analysis applies a China-versus-rest-of-world difference-in-difference-in-differences framework estimated using PPML with high-dimensional fixed effects and entropy-balanced comparison products. The analysis covers Pakistan’s product-level trade data over 2005–2023, with 2017 as the preferred policy benchmark. Detailed execution instructions are provided in README.md, and variable definitions are provided in DATA_DICTIONARY.md.

This paper develops a preliminary methodological framework for braid-theoretic trajectory description in historical social inquiry. It begins from an epistemic asymmetry: a complete generative rule for a social process can remain unavailable or underdetermined while portions of the realized relational history remain reconstructible from documents, events, institutional transformations, and ordered interactions. The paper adds an explicit fact-regime layer between social reality, evidence, and historical trajectory reconstruction. Within GR's three-level reality architecture, ontological reality remains suspended, relational reality contains historically constituted and efficacious social objects, and manifestation reality contains the context-dependent forms through which those objects become accessible. Social inquiry is then represented through overlapping fact families, alternative fact taxonomies, compatible fact configurations, candidate histories, relational trajectories, and braid descriptions. The framework develops set-valued reconstruction, fact-conditioned research objects, braid admissibility, topological robustness under evidential, taxonomic, and geometric uncertainty, topology-changing boundaries, comparative trajectory descriptors, and inverse constraints on candidate generative explanations. Its central methodological claim is limited: non-identification of a complete generator need not imply non-identification of selected trajectory structure. Braid-theoretic description is treated as a conditional intermediate representation whose fact articulation, admissibility, resolution, robustness, semantic interpretation, and causal role must be stated separately. The framework complements historical, interpretive, process-tracing, path-dependence, and sequence-sensitive methods.

It begins innocently enough. A gardening cut. A scraped knee. A routine surgery that goes exactly as planned. For most of human history, an infected wound was a lottery of life and death — until a moldy dish in a London laboratory changed everything. Penicillin arrived in the 1940s like a miracle, transforming once-lethal infections into minor inconveniences. Surgeons could operate boldly. Burns could be survived. Childbirth became dramatically safer. Humanity collectively exhaled.

Here we include the full grid (12GB when compressed) used and created for the publication, along with the python scripts used to analyse the data. We also include a draft template that includes the run_binary_extras.f90, run_star_extras.f90, and inlists used for the creation of the grid.
The grid was computed using the MESA code (version 24.08.1, compiled with gfortran 13.3.0 via MESA SDK x86_64-linux-24.7.1). The code was compiled on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 on CSD3.
